Critical Actions of the Personal Development Process
Week 1: Being intentional about growth
Introduction - Understanding the program and getting to know team members. What does Personal Development mean to you? Are you ready to be intentional? What kind of team member will you be? What will it take for you to get the most out of this program?
Week 2: Embracing Identity
Who are you? How do you describe yourself? What makes you unique? Give realistic insight into
how you are actually perceived. How do you want others to perceive you? What do you like about yourself and what would you like to change?

Week 3: Gaining Self-Awareness
Assess strengths and weaknesses, uncover debilitating beliefs, choosing areas to focus on within the program such as education, job, health, relationships, finances, etc.

Week 4: Regulating Emotions
Understanding and expressing emotions, managing anger, anxiety, disappointment, etc. Self-care and healthy boundaries.

Week 5: Values Based Living
Getting clear about what matters most – love, family, faith, service, etc. Identifying and living your purpose.

Week 6: Avoiding Destructive Relationships
Letting go of relationships that hurt us. Setting healthy boundaries. Why we get stuck? Using respect as the filter.

Week 7: Building Life-affirming Relationships
Shared values, growth mindset, the courage to enter new environments and face rejection.

Week 8: Managing Resources
Finances, health, time, talent, etc.

Week 9: Managing Desires
Know your limits and boundaries about sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, fame, hobbies, etc.

Week 10: Finding Meaning in Work
Professionalism, significance, dependability, further education, cultural competency, impact

Life planning, strategic action plans, building support systems.
